Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms
By making a booking or attending a workshop at Clay in the Shed, you agree to these Terms & Conditions on behalf of yourself and all participants in your booking.
These Terms apply to all public workshops, private group bookings, hens parties, birthdays, corporate events, and any other studio experiences.
2. Bookings & Confirmation
A booking is only confirmed once you receive a confirmation email from Clay in the Shed.
All bookings are subject to availability.
It is your responsibility to ensure all booking details are correct, including participant numbers and contact information.
We may refuse or cancel bookings in the event of pricing errors, system issues, or availability changes.
3. Public Workshops
Public workshops are ticketed per person and have limited spaces.
Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise stated.
Workshops begin at the scheduled time. Late arrivals may miss instructions or receive reduced workshop time without refund.
Tickets are non-transferable unless approved by us.
We may reschedule or adjust workshops due to demand or operational requirements.
4. Private Group Bookings
Private bookings include hens parties, birthdays, corporate groups, and exclusive events.
A deposit is required to secure your booking date.
Final payment is due by the date specified on your invoice.
The booking holder is responsible for confirming final guest numbers prior to the event.
Any changes to guest numbers must be confirmed in advance and are subject to availability.
Private bookings are exclusive to your group unless otherwise agreed.
5. Payments
Deposits for private bookings are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
Full payment is required for public workshops unless specified otherwise.
All prices are in AUD and include GST where applicable.
Failure to pay by the due date may result in cancellation of your booking.

Private Bookings

Cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable

Cancellations outside 14 days may receive partial refund (less costs incurred)
We may offer credit or rescheduling at our discretion.
7. Rescheduling
Rescheduling is subject to availability.
Public workshops require at least 72 hours’ notice.
Private bookings require at least 21 days’ notice.
Only one reschedule is permitted unless otherwise agreed.
8. Guest Numbers
Private bookings require minimum and maximum guest numbers.
If numbers fall below the minimum, pricing may be adjusted or the booking may be cancelled.
Final guest numbers must be confirmed before the event.
9. Arrival & Late Attendance
Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled start time.
Workshops begin promptly.
Late arrivals may:

Receive reduced workshop time

Be unable to complete the workshop
No refunds apply for late arrival.
10. Children & Supervision
Children may only attend workshops where appropriate for the session type.
All school-aged children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
We are not responsible for unsupervised children on the premises.
We may refuse participation if safety or disruption is a concern.
11. Health & Safety
Participants must follow all instructions provided by staff.
Workshops involve tools, clay, and studio equipment that must be used responsibly.
You must inform us of any medical conditions or concerns that may affect participation.
We may remove any participant behaving unsafely or disruptively without refund.
12. Alcohol & Behaviour
Alcohol is only permitted at private bookings where approved in advance.
All participants must behave responsibly at all times.
We may refuse entry or remove any intoxicated or disruptive participant without refund.
13. Studio Conduct
All participants must:

Respect staff and other guests

Use tools correctly

Follow instructions

Keep workspaces clean
We reserve the right to remove participants for inappropriate behaviour without refund.
14. Damage to Property
Participants are responsible for damage caused by misuse or negligence.
This includes tools, equipment, and studio property.
Repair or replacement costs may be charged where applicable.
15. Pottery Outcomes
All pottery is handmade and results will vary.
We do not guarantee size, shape, colour, or final finish.
Imperfections are a natural part of ceramics.
16. Firing Process
All pieces are dried, glazed, and kiln-fired after workshops.
Cracking, breakage, or surface changes may occur.
These are inherent risks of ceramics and not considered faults.
We are not liable for pieces damaged during firing or drying.
17. Collection & Postage
You will be notified when your work is ready for collection.
Items must be collected within the advised timeframe.
Uncollected pieces may be discarded after a reasonable period.
Postage is available at an additional cost.
We are not responsible for items after collection or postage.
18. Photography
We may take photos or videos during workshops for marketing and social media.
By attending, you consent unless you notify us in writing before the session.
Participants may take photos provided it does not disrupt the workshop.
19. Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers:

Are non-refundable

Cannot be redeemed for cash

Must be used before expiry

May be transferable unless stated otherwise
Lost vouchers cannot be replaced without proof of purchase.
20. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for cancellations caused by events outside our control, including natural disasters, illness, government restrictions, or power outages.
Where possible, we will offer rescheduling or credit.
21. Liability
Participation is at your own risk.
We are not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from attendance.
Nothing excludes your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
22. Privacy
We collect personal information to manage bookings and deliver services.
Information is stored securely and not sold to third parties.
We comply with Australian privacy legislation.
23. Changes to Bookings
Changes are subject to availability.
Additional charges may apply.
We may decline changes that cannot be accommodated.
24. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
Any disputes will be handled under NSW jurisdiction.
